"I Believe Every Child Deserves The Best Financial Education"

This is part 7 in my free 10-day Financial Literacy For Kids 101 series.

Learn how the power of your words can negatively or positively influence your child's abundance mindset and financial future.

It's crazy to think of the money blocks that we pick up as children from the smallest unintended moments. Our childlike brains take those words and actions that we hear and see and create solid ideas of what money and abundance are like.

And most of the time those ideas are false and don't serve us and actually hold us back from achieving our full potential.

Have you ever felt that you weren't good enough? That maybe you matter less than other people?

If so, you are not alone. That is a very common feeling that most of us deal with on a daily basis and only the successful people have figure out how to overcome.

The good news is it's actually easier to change those negative beliefs than you might realize.

Were you raised to believe that money is bad and that only bad people are rich that good people have to do everything for free and help everyone but themselves?

Can you imagine what our lives would have looked like had we never questioned our own value. Had we fully believed as a child into our adult lives that we actually matter and that our happiness and financial success will actually make our world a better place because we would then have the time and money freedom to make a positive difference in our world?

How wonderful would that be?

Wouldn't you want that for your child?

Let's take a quick look at some moments that may have shaped those negative thought patterns in your mind and see how we can change them just by changing our words.

Imagine you are a child and you are shopping for groceries with you mom. You see a really nice looking toy on the shelf. You ask you mom if you can have that.

She says, "No we can't afford that."

And that closes the discussion. You simply accept in your mind that you don't deserve it. Your family don't have the money to get nice things. When you see your friends with those nice things you feel that they must be better, they must deserve it more than you do.

It's funny how our child minds work to make sense of our world. We don't understand money yet, where it comes from, how to get it and so on. So we think if we can't afford something and someone else can then we just must be worth less than them.

What if instead your mom had still said no but in a way that got your mind to search for solutions?

What is she had said, "We don't have the extra money for that right now, why don't we sit down tonight and think of some fun ways you could earn the money to buy that for yourself? That would be fun right?"

Your mom still said no but she didn't close the door. Your child mind didn't have to formulate a reason why you didn't deserve to have it. You mind is now excited that mom's going to take some time to help you find a way to buy it for yourself.

You feel honoured and worthy. You feel that you are enough, more than enough. Your mom has faith in you that you can buy it yourself.

Plus not to mention the tremendous pride of ownership you will feel once you achieve that goal.

It can be so simple and yet so powerful when we simply change how we say things to our child around money and abundance.

Okay, so I want to help you with knowing what to say in different situations that can affect your child's abundance mindset. Creating a healthy financial literacy conversation with your child is critical to their future success and it's so much easier than you might think.

Watch my video below and I'll give you more examples of increasing your child's abundance mindset so your child will grow up confident and knowing they deserve to have financial success ... and they will have the desire and internal motivation to make their dreams come true.

Have you ever heard of the Law of Attraction? It's a natural law, like the law of gravity, that states that we attract to us what we send out.

So look at it this way, when we feel we are not worthy, that we are not enough, we attract events and things to us that prove that to be true. However when we believe in our own self-worth and have a positive abundance mindset we attract things to us that prove that to be true as well.

In short we see what we send out. Our minds focus on what it knows and the only way to change what we receive is to change how our mind thinks by doing little positive changes like changing our words and how we look at things.

That mother still did not have the money for the toy but she chose to empower her child instead of limiting her child by encouraging her child to find a solution instead of simply saying there wasn't one.

Make sure you take notes and after you watch the video let me know in the comments below what negative money abundance beliefs did you have as a child that has held you back and what negative money beliefs do you want to change for your child?
